This 10Gtek card puts a single SFP+ port on a PCIe 2.0 x8 lane using the Intel 82599EN controller. It targets administrators who need 10 Gbps fibre or direct-attach links in rack-mount or low-profile chassis. Driver media and both full-height and low-profile brackets are included. The card does not support hot-swap insertion.

Throughput headroom at 10 Gbps line rate

The SFP+ cage accepts 10 Gbps modules, DAC or AOC cables, delivering full-duplex 10 Gbps bandwidth. Jumbo frames up to 9.5 KB reduce CPU overhead for iSCSI, FCoE or NFS storage traffic. A single port means aggregate throughput tops out at 10 Gbps; multi-port link aggregation or 25 Gbps uplinks require additional cards.

The Intel 82599EN controller is rated for continuous operation between 0 °C and 55 °C without exotic cooling. Passive heatsink dissipation keeps acoustic impact negligible in typical server airflow. Power draw is limited to the PCIe 2.0 x8 slot envelope, so no auxiliary power connector is needed.
