It is built for servers and workstations that require error-correcting unbuffered DIMMs. The dual-rank 2Rx8 organisation suits platforms that populate two channels for bandwidth. Desktop and laptop systems cannot use these modules.

DDR3L Voltage And Speed Limits

The modules run at 1.35V and are rated for PC3L-12800 at 1600 MHz with CL11 latency. They can also operate at 1.5V where the platform demands standard DDR3 voltage. Systems limited to lower speeds will downclock the kit automatically. Boards that only accept registered or fully buffered DIMMs will not post with this unbuffered design.

Straightforward DIMM Installation

Each 240-pin DIMM keys into the slot in one orientation; press until the ejector tabs click. Populate matching channel slots as the system manual directs to enable dual-channel mode. The most common issue is mixing these unbuffered ECC sticks with registered modules, which prevents boot.
