This A-Tech module adds 32 GB of DDR3 1866 capacity to compatible servers and workstations. It uses ECC Load Reduced DIMM technology with a 4Rx4 quad-rank layout to support high-density memory configurations. The module runs at standard 1.5 V and carries a CL13 latency rating. It is built for enterprise systems that require registered ECC memory.
The 240-pin DIMM fits DDR3 server platforms that specifically support LRDIMM modules; it will not work in desktop or laptop computers. Load Reduced buffering reduces electrical load on the memory controller, freeing headroom for populating additional slots. The module runs at the standard 1.50V DDR3 voltage with CL13 latency; under continuous load the memory controller and thermal limits of the platform typically constrain throughput before the DIMM itself does.
Load-reduced buffering lowers electrical load on the bus, so a 1.5V 4Rx4 module adds modest incremental power and heat compared with a standard registered DIMM of the same capacity.
The host must be a DDR3 server or workstation platform that explicitly supports ECC load-reduced DIMMs and quad-rank x4 modules in its memory controller and BIOS.
