This A-Tech kit provides 8 GB of DDR3L 1600 ECC unbuffered memory in a matched pair of 4 GB modules. It is built for servers and workstations that require error-correcting code support and dual-channel operation. The modules run at 1.35 V low voltage and carry a CL11 latency rating. Desktop and laptop systems cannot use this memory.

DDR3L 1600 speed and voltage limits

The DDR3L standard tops out at 1600 MT/s and 1.35 V, so this kit runs at the highest JEDEC speed for the technology. Systems limited to 1.5 V DDR3 can still use the modules because they are backward compatible to that voltage. No higher DDR3L frequencies or lower voltages exist within the specification.

ECC unbuffered requirement decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the need for ECC unbuffered DDR3L DIMMs in a 240-pin form factor. If your server or workstation manual calls for registered, fully buffered or non-ECC memory, this kit will not work.
