The AMD Ryzen 7 7700X fits Socket AM5 motherboards and delivers 8 cores with 16 threads for multi-threaded workloads. Its base clock runs at 4.5 GHz and can boost up to 5.4 GHz when thermal headroom allows. The chip supports DDR5 5200 memory in dual-channel mode up to 128 GB with ECC capability. Integrated Radeon graphics provide basic display output without a discrete card.
A 105 W TDP means the processor needs a capable cooler to maintain base frequencies during typical workloads. At stock settings the 5 nm Zen 4 die runs efficiently at 4.5 GHz across all cores within that power envelope. Noise and temperatures depend entirely on the chosen cooler and case airflow since no cooling device is included. Power draw scales with voltage and frequency requested by the operating system.
Under continuous all-core load the processor manages clocks to stay within its 105 W limit while maximising throughput. Maximum turbo of 5.4 GHz is reached opportunistically on lightly threaded bursts rather than held indefinitely. Align the triangle marker on the processor with the socket corner, lower it gently without force, and lock the retention arm; the step many miss is applying fresh thermal paste before mounting the cooler because no cooling device is included.
The processor itself has no serviceable parts; plan to replace the thermal paste between the CPU and cooler every few years to maintain heat transfer at the 105W TDP.
The 105W thermal design power ceiling is reached before the 5.4 GHz max turbo can hold across all 8 cores, so clock speeds drop to stay within the power envelope.
