The APC AP8959 is a zero-U switched power distribution unit built for dense server racks. It delivers 24 locking IEC outlets and remote outlet-level control over Web, SNMP, CLI or Telnet. Network operators and data-centre managers use it to reboot individual devices, sequence startup order and monitor real-time current draw with alarm thresholds.

0U Form Factor for Vertical Mounting

This unit mounts vertically in the zero-U space of a standard rack, leaving all horizontal U positions free for compute gear. It replaces basic non-switched strips that lack remote power cycling, outlet locking or sequenced power-on delays. The upgrade is worth it when you need to reboot hung servers without a site visit or prevent accidental disconnection of critical loads.

20 A Input with 16 A Derated Capacity

The C20 inlet accepts 100–240 V AC at 50/60 Hz and is rated for 20 A maximum input, with a regulatory derated limit of 16 A. Three C19 and twenty-one C13 outlets distribute power to connected equipment. It comfortably handles mixed C13/C19 loads within the 16 A continuous budget; sustained draw above that level will exceed the derated rating and risk tripping upstream protection.
