Eight-bay NVME backplane

The Athena Power BP-M28NVME525 fits a standard 5.25-inch bay and holds up to eight M.2 NVME SSDs. It accepts drive lengths of 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 mm. The unit is built from an aluminium backplane with a stainless steel carrier and includes a metal keylock with two keys. Three 4010 mm blower fans provide active cooling.

Suits high-density storage builds

This backplane is aimed at builders who want maximum NVME capacity in a single optical-bay slot. It requires a host connection through a Slimline (SlimSAS) 4i x 8 interface, so systems without that connector cannot use it. Buyers who need external connectivity or an included power supply should look elsewhere.

The only data path is the Slimline (SlimSAS) 4i x 8 connector on the rear of the module. All eight drives share this single link, so the host controller and cable must support the same interface for any drives to be recognised.
