TeraStation 3030 4-Bay NAS

The Buffalo TeraStation 3030 TS3430RN0402 is a rackmount network storage appliance with four drive bays. It ships with two 2 TB hard drives for a total of 4 TB usable capacity. An Annapurna Labs AL-524 quad-core processor at 2.0 GHz and 2 GB of DDR4 memory handle file services and RAID management. The unit includes a rail kit for standard rack installation.

Network connectivity and expansion

Two Ethernet ports provide 2.5 GbE and 1 GbE links for LAN access. Three USB ports — two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 — allow external storage or printer sharing. The device supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD for data protection or capacity aggregation. Buyers who need more than two native network ports or built-in 10 GbE should consider other platforms.

Four-bay SATA capacity

The chassis accepts four SATA drives, and only two bays are populated at delivery. This leaves two empty bays for future expansion or for configuring higher RAID levels that require additional drives. If your deployment requires all four bays filled immediately, you must purchase extra drives separately.
