NDI 4.0 bandwidth and network protocol limits

NDI 4.0 transmission runs over standard IP networks using RTSP, RTMP, ONVIF and GB/T28181 protocols. PoE power is supplied through Cat5, Cat6 or Cat7 cabling, so the camera draws no separate AC feed when the switch supports it. Control uses VISCA over IP or cascaded RS232 and RS422 links compatible with RS485.

Installation notes and common pitfalls

Mount the camera, connect a single Ethernet cable for PoE and data, then assign an IP address for web control. USB 3.0 uses a Type B port that falls back to USB 2.0 speeds if the host port is older. Audio enters via a 3.5 mm line input. Preset positions number 255; exceeding that limit or mismatching VISCA baud rates on the RS232/422 chain are the most frequent setup errors.
