This kit provides 8 GB of DDR3 memory in two 4 GB modules for HP G Notebook G62-355Ca, G62-355Dx and G62-357Ca systems. It uses 204-pin SO-DIMM form factor and operates at 1.5 V. The modules are unbuffered, non-ECC and carry a CL7 timing of 7-7-7.

Capacity and headroom for 32-bit and 64-bit systems

A 32-bit operating system can address only 4 GB, so the full 8 GB requires a 64-bit OS. With 4 GB installed the system may recognise 3.5 GB or less depending on configuration. Systems based on the Intel GL40 chipset support a maximum of 4 GB.

DDR3-1333 interface limited by memory bus speed

The modules are rated for DDR3-1333 (PC3-10600) but the memory bus may run at 1066 MHz (PC3-8500) depending on the processor. The kit is also compatible with DDR3-1066 (PC3-8500) operation. Buyers needing higher bandwidth or a different DDR generation cannot use this kit.
