This 1.92 TB SAS solid-state drive uses a 2.5 inch form factor and a 12 Gb/s interface. It is built for mixed-use workloads in Dell PowerEdge servers and ships with a compatible caddy for direct installation.

Suits mixed-use server workloads

The drive fits a long list of PowerEdge R-series models from the R210 through the R930, including the R220, R420, R620, R720 and R730XD. It is not intended for desktop PCs, consumer laptops or systems that lack a SAS backplane and the matching drive bay.

12 Gb/s SAS interface decides fit

The single specification that determines compatibility is the 12 Gb/s SAS connection; the server must provide that interface and a 2.5 inch bay. Without a SAS controller and the correct caddy the drive cannot be used.
