Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory and two 300 GB 15 K SAS drives give a ready-to-run platform for virtualisation hosts, database nodes or backup targets that need hot-plug drive bays and redundant power.

Thermals noise and power draw

Dual 750 W hot-swap power supplies share the load, keeping each unit in an efficient range while providing full redundancy. The 2U chassis uses Dell's managed airflow design to move air front-to-back across the processor and memory, so fan speeds stay proportional to actual thermal demand rather than running at a fixed high RPM.

What the bundled items change

The H330 RAID controller presents the two SAS drives as a single logical volume with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 or 60, removing the need for a separate HBA. iDRAC8 Express provides out-of-band remote console, power control and hardware inventory without an enterprise licence. A DVD-ROM and a power cable complete the package so the server can be racked and imaged immediately.
