The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor at 2.4 GHz with 16 GB of DDR4 memory into a 1U chassis. It ships with three 1 TB 7.2K SATA drives on a PERC H730 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The platform targets workloads that need rack density and hardware RAID without a second CPU.

Redundant 550 W supply and hot-swap bays

A single 550 W redundant hot-swap power supply feeds the system while eight 2.5-inch hot-plug drive bays allow drive changes without downtime. The H730 controller adds 1 GB cache and 12 Gbps SAS connectivity for the installed SATA drives. Four 1 GbE ports and iDRAC8 remote management handle network and out-of-band access.

Max memory capped at 16 GB

The specification lists maximum memory capacity as 16 GB across 12 DIMM slots, so the installed 16 GB already fills the supported limit. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of RAM cannot expand this configuration. Two PCIe 3.0 slots remain available for additional I/O cards.
