The system includes 256GB of DDR4 2666MHz registered ECC memory across eight 32GB modules. Two redundant 750W platinum-efficiency power supplies are fitted.

Suited for high-density compute clusters

This server fits environments that need maximum core count and memory in a single rack unit. The eight-bay 2.5-inch chassis supports SAS and SATA drives through the H730P controller with RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60. Buyers who want more storage bays or a larger form factor should look at a different platform. The installed network daughter card provides two 1GbE and two 10Gb SFP+ ports.

24 cores per processor socket

Each Intel Xeon Platinum 8160 delivers 24 cores at a base frequency of 2.1GHz with a 3.7GHz turbo capability. The LGA 3647 socket and Intel C620 chipset limit upgrades to a maximum of two processors. Memory capacity can scale to 3TB across 24 DDR4 slots when additional modules are added. iDRAC 9 Enterprise enables full remote management.
