The PowerEdge R640 fits two Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors in a single rack unit, delivering 16 cores at 2.1 GHz with 3.0 GHz turbo. It targets organisations that need dense compute for virtualisation, databases or high-performance workloads in constrained data-centre space.

Build integration and expansion

The chassis accepts up to eight 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives and provides 24 DDR4 slots for a maximum of 3 TB registered ECC memory. Dual redundant 750 W platinum power supplies and ready rails simplify rack installation while the PERC H730P controller manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 without occupying a PCIe slot.

Bundled accessories and management

Two 300 GB 10 K SAS drives and a quad-port network daughter card with dual 1 GbE and dual 10 Gb SFP+ ports are factory installed. iDRAC 9 Enterprise enables full remote lifecycle management, and the included front bezel completes the physical deployment.
