The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors, each running at 2.40 GHz with six cores. It ships with 64 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across four modules and includes a PERC H730 storage controller with 1 GB cache. Two 300 GB 10K SAS drives and a quad-port network daughter card with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports are installed. iDRAC 8 Enterprise provides remote management.

Thermals noise and power draw

Dual 750 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies deliver redundant hot-swap power for continuous operation. The 2U chassis uses managed airflow across the processors, memory and drive bays to maintain thermal stability under load. Fan speeds scale with inlet temperature and component utilisation, keeping acoustic output appropriate for a data-centre environment rather than a quiet office.

Included accessories and management

Ready rails and a front bezel are supplied for immediate rack mounting.
