The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v3 processors, each running at 2.6 GHz with 10 cores and a 3.3 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across 24 slots, expandable to 1.5 TB. The system targets midsize and large enterprises running databases, virtual desktop infrastructure, data warehouses or high-performance computing nodes.

Hot-swap bays and redundant power for continuous

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays accept SAS and SATA drives behind a front bezel, with two 300 GB 10K SAS drives already installed. The Dell PERC H730 controller provides 1 GB cache and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes. Dual 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies are hot-swappable, and ready rails simplify rack mounting in standard enclosures.

Quad-port networking and enterprise remote

A Dell Intel X520/I350 daughter card delivers two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports for flexible uplink choices. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables out-of-band remote management, power control and virtual console access without an operating system. The bundled rails and bezel complete the physical installation, so the server is ready for integration into existing infrastructure.
