The Dell PowerEdge R730 fits in a standard 2U rack space and runs two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v4 processors, each with 16 cores at 2.1 GHz and a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. 768 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory is installed across 24 slots, leaving room to grow toward the 1.5 TB maximum. The system targets midsize and large enterprises running databases, virtual desktop infrastructure or high-performance computing nodes.

H730 controller with 10 SAS drives and quad-port

A Dell PERC H730 1 GB mini controller provides RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode, backed by a battery. Ten 600 GB 10K SAS 12 Gb/s 2.5-inch drives are populated in the eight-bay chassis. Networking comes from an Intel X520/I350 daughter card delivering two 1 GbE ports and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables full remote management.
