Dual Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors provide forty-four cores at 2.2 GHz with 3.6 GHz turbo. 128 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and a PERC H730 RAID controller support virtualisation, databases and high-performance computing nodes.

This system replaces configurations limited to eight bays or earlier PERC cards. The jump is worthwhile when workloads demand twelve 4 TB enterprise SATA drives, hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60, and dual 10 GbE SFP+ ports on the X520/I350 daughter card.
