This 2U rack server ships with two 14-core Intel Xeon E5-2683 v3 processors running at 2.0 GHz, 768 GB of DDR4-2133 registered ECC memory across 24 slots, a PERC H730 1 GB storage controller and two 800 GB SATA SSDs. It includes dual 750 W platinum power supplies, an Intel X520/I350 quad-port network daughter card with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections, iDRAC8 Enterprise remote management, ready rails and a front bezel. The chassis supports up to 24 2.5-inch drives and a maximum memory capacity of 1.5 TB.

Suited for dense storage and virtualised workloads

The 24-bay front panel and 1.5 TB memory ceiling make this system a fit for databases, VDI clusters, data-warehouse nodes and HPC data tiers that benefit from high core counts and large local capacity. Buyers who need more than 24 drive slots or a backplane that natively supports faster interfaces than SATA and SAS cannot expand beyond this chassis limit. Workloads requiring newer instruction-set extensions or higher per-core frequencies will also need a different platform.
