SATA SSD limits and 12Gb/s controller throughput

The 24 installed 800GB drives use the SATA 6Gb/s interface, capping sequential throughput at the SATA link speed. The PERC H730 controller operates on a 12Gb/s SAS/SATA bus, so the drives cannot saturate the controller bandwidth. RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 and pass-through modes are available, but write-heavy workloads will hit the SATA device ceiling before the controller limit.

24x 800GB SATA SSD capacity fixed at purchase
