A single Xeon E5-2650 v3 with ten cores at 2.3 GHz and 48 GB of DDR4 memory handles virtualisation or database workloads. Dual 750 W redundant supplies keep the system running through a power-module failure.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The H730 RAID controller with 1 GB cache and 12 Gbps SAS connectivity maintains throughput across RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 during long write sequences. Three 300 GB 15 K RPM drives deliver consistent IOPS for mixed read-write patterns. Six PCIe 3.0 slots allow additional NICs or HBAs without saturating the bus.

Interface Practical Limits

SAS backplane bandwidth and the H730's 12 Gbps lanes cap aggregate drive throughput below the theoretical maximum of twenty-four drives.
