The DELL PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server built for compute-intensive workloads. Two Intel Xeon Gold 6134 processors deliver 16 cores at 3.2GHz with 3.7GHz turbo. 128GB of DDR4 2666MHz registered ECC memory fills eight of 24 slots. Eight 300GB 10K SAS drives sit behind a PERC H730P controller.

The H730P battery-backed cache protects write throughput when RAID rebuilds run for hours. iDRAC 9 Enterprise lets you watch thermals and power draw remotely without interrupting the host.
