The PowerEdge R740 installs two Xeon Silver 4110 processors at 2.1 GHz with eight cores each. 128 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory occupies eight of the 24 available slots. The platform targets virtualisation, database and high-performance computing tasks that demand multi-threaded throughput.

Sustained load handling

Two 750 W platinum power supplies share the load and maintain operation if one unit fails. The PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache drives eight 1.2 TB 10 K SAS drives in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60. Active cooling across the 2U chassis keeps CPU and storage temperatures stable during continuous duty cycles.

Enterprise connectivity
