Dual Xeon Gold 6142 processors and 512GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory provide the compute foundation for software-defined storage, virtual desktop infrastructure or service-provider workloads. Twelve front-accessible 3.5-inch trays accept SATA or SAS drives without reducing the rack footprint.

Sustained throughput with hardware RAID

The PERC H730P controller with 2GB cache and battery backup maintains write performance during extended rebuilds or parity calculations. RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 are supported alongside pass-through mode for direct device access. Redundant 750W platinum power supplies and hot-swap bays keep the array online while a failed drive is replaced.

Twelve 3.5-inch bays define the limit

Storage expansion stops at the twelve included trays; no additional internal 3.5-inch slots exist in this chassis. Buyers who need more spindles must add external enclosures or choose a different platform. The quad-port X520/I350 daughter card supplies two 1GbE and two 10Gb SFP+ links for cluster interconnects.
