Dual Xeon Silver 4116 processors provide 24 total cores at 2.1 GHz with 3.0 GHz turbo. 512 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 16 modules supports virtualisation and database tasks. Twelve 3.5-inch drive bays are populated with 8 TB enterprise hard drives.

Twelve-bay SATA and SAS limit

The PERC H730P controller manages up to twelve SATA or SAS drives through a 12 Gb/s interface with 2 GB cache and battery backup. RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through are supported. The 3.5-inch form factor excludes 2.5-inch SSDs without adapters. Network connectivity uses a quad-port daughter card with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports.

512 GB DDR4 registered ECC ceiling

Installed memory occupies 16 of 24 slots, leaving room to reach the 3 TB maximum with larger DDR4 modules. Buyers who need more than 512 GB today must add registered ECC DDR4 DIMMs. The platform does not support unbuffered or non-ECC memory. The dual 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise complete the baseline configuration.
