SAS storage controller and drive limits

The PERC H730P controller supports SAS and SATA drives with RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Only two 300 GB 10K SAS drives are included in the eight 2.5-inch bays, so additional drives are required to reach usable capacity or redundancy.

Memory expansion and power requirements

The system accepts up to 6 TB of DDR4 memory, but the 48 slots are populated with four 16 GB modules leaving most slots empty for future upgrades. Dual 1600 W platinum power supplies provide redundancy, so the rack must supply adequate power distribution for both units.
