Server overview

The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v4 processors running at 2.1 GHz and 64 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It targets organisations that need dense compute capacity in a standard rack footprint for virtualisation, database or application workloads. The chassis supports up to sixteen 2.5-inch SAS drive bays and includes a PERC H730 RAID controller. Remote management is provided by iDRAC8 Express.

Installation notes

The unit ships with dual 1100 W power supplies and a two-port 1 GbE 332T network adapter already installed. Rails are available on request but are not included by default. Drive bays accept 2.5-inch SAS drives only; no drives are installed from the factory so storage must be added before deployment. Firmware and BIOS are updated to the latest stable release and the system has passed full diagnostics and burn-in testing.

Interface limits

The PERC H730 controller manages SAS storage and the sixteen-bay backplane provides the physical limit for internal drives. Memory can be expanded to 384 GB using DDR4 ECC registered modules across the available slots. Processor sockets are fully populated with the two supported Xeon E5-2683 v4 CPUs so no further CPU upgrades are possible. Network connectivity is limited to the two onboard 1 GbE ports unless additional adapters are installed.
