Precision T7910 workstation for compute-heavy tasks

The Dell Precision T7910 tower houses a single ten-core Xeon E5-2640 v4 processor running at 2.4 GHz with hyperthreading providing twenty logical threads. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and a new 1 TB SATA solid-state drive. The Nvidia NVS 310 graphics card offers dual DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor productivity. No operating system is included.

Tower chassis with 1300 W supply and expandable

The black tower form factor contains a 1300 W power supply rated at 90 percent efficiency with active power factor correction. A DVD-RW optical drive is fitted as standard. Internal drive bays support up to four M.2 PCIe SSDs and either four 3.5-inch or eight 2.5-inch SATA or SAS drives. An optional PCIe controller is required for RAID 5 configurations.

Single-socket Xeon E5-2640 v4 limits maximum

With only one processor installed the system uses eight of the sixteen available DIMM slots and the quad-channel memory controller operates at half width. Buyers who need the full 1 TB memory capacity or the complete PCIe lane count for multiple high-bandwidth add-in cards must populate the second LGA 2011-3 socket.
