Precision T7910 tower workstation

The Dell Precision T7910 is a tower workstation built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2640 v4 processor with 10 cores at 2.4 GHz and Hyperthreading for 20 threads. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and a new 250 GB SATA solid-state drive. The Nvidia NVS 310 graphics card provides 512 MB of video memory and dual DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups. No operating system is included.

SATA and SAS storage interface limits

The integrated LSI SAS 3008 controller delivers 12 Gb/s SAS and 6 Gb/s SATA connectivity with software RAID 0, 1 and 10 support for up to eight drives. Two additional Intel SATA ports at 6 Gb/s serve optical drives. The chassis accommodates up to four 3.5-inch or eight 2.5-inch SATA and SAS drives, while M.2 PCIe slots require an optional controller for full utilisation. Networking uses Intel I217 and I210 Gigabit controllers.

Single Xeon E5-2640 v4 processor

This configuration includes only one CPU in the LGA 2011-3 socket, so maximum memory capacity and quad-channel bandwidth are limited to what a single processor supports. Buyers who need the full 1 TB memory ceiling or eight-channel throughput must add a second compatible Xeon. The 1300 W power supply and 16 DIMM slots are ready for that expansion when required.
