This new 2.5-inch SAS hard drive delivers 900 GB of storage at 10,000 RPM with a 64 MB buffer. It uses a 6 Gb/s SAS interface and ships with a Dell PowerEdge caddy for direct installation in compatible server bays. The drive is built for internal use in enterprise environments.

Suited for PowerEdge server upgrades

It fits a wide range of PowerEdge models including the R610, R710, R720, R820, M610, M910, T610 and T710 among others listed by the manufacturer. It is not for systems that lack a 2.5-inch SAS backplane or that cannot accept a 10K RPM mechanical drive. Buyers needing higher capacity or solid-state speed should look at something else.
