Material and diameter

E3D spoolWorks EDGE is a PETG-based filament supplied on a 750 g spool with a 2.85 mm diameter. It is formulated to combine ABS-like toughness with the easy printing characteristics of PLA, making it suitable for makers who want durable parts without the warp and fumes often associated with ABS. The material is fully recyclable and produces no unpleasant odours during extrusion.

Mechanical headroom

The filament delivers strong layer adhesion at a molecular level, so printed parts remain nearly as strong between layers as across them. It handles functional prototypes, brackets and enclosures that require impact resistance and stiffness, while its super-low contraction minimises warping on large flat surfaces. Extremely high-temperature applications or designs needing certified flame ratings fall outside its comfortable range.

Print behaviour

Edge prints cleanly without releasing harsh fumes, keeping the workspace comfortable during long jobs. A thin layer of gluestick on the bed provides reliable first-layer adhesion, and the material pairs with E3D Scaffold support filament for clean breakaway on complex overhangs and bridges. Its managed viscosity and melt strength allow tight bridging and accurate overhangs with minimal stringing or drooping.
