This adapter converts 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch IDE hard drives to a SATA interface. It supports both 44-pin laptop drives and 40-pin desktop drives, letting you connect older PATA storage to modern motherboards. The board includes a 23cm SATA 22-pin data and power extension cable for flexible installation.

Dual pin-header compatibility

The converter handles 44-pin 2.5-inch drives and 40-pin 3.5-inch drives on a single circuit board. Desktop 3.5-inch drives receive power through an 8cm Molex 4-pin connector on the adapter. No jumper configuration is required for the translation.

Passive operation with external power

The adapter draws no active cooling and adds negligible load to the system. The 3.5-inch drive is powered separately via the Molex connector, so the SATA port only carries data and 2.5-inch drive power. Cable length is limited to the included 23cm extension.
