This EN-Labs PCIe expansion kit adds four USB 3.0 ports to a desktop PC using a single PCI Express slot. Two Type-A ports sit on the card bracket while two more reach a 3.5-inch front-panel module via a 20-pin internal header. The NEC UPD720201 controller delivers up to 5.0 Gbps transfer rates and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.

Verify that your motherboard has a free PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and a spare USB 3.0 20-pin internal header for the front-panel cable. The card draws power from the PCIe slot and includes a 15-pin SATA power connector for extra current, so confirm your power supply has an available SATA lead. Supported operating systems include Windows XP, 2003, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and Linux.

Full-profile bracket and 3.5-inch drive-bay panel

The card uses a full-profile PCI slot cover and fits standard chassis dimensions. A 20-pin to dual Type-A splitter cable connects the internal header to the included 3.5-inch front panel, which mounts in a floppy drive bay. The SATA 15-pin power input supplements slot power for demanding peripherals, while the x1 PCIe 2.0 host interface provides sufficient bus bandwidth for the four ports.
