Compact Mini-ITX chassis

The Fractal Design Era 2 is a silver Mini-ITX tower built from anodized aluminum panels on a steel frame. It targets builders who want a small-form-factor system with room for a full-length graphics card and liquid cooling. The exterior shell slides off without tools for quick internal access. A solid walnut top panel completes the look.

Thermals and acoustics at idle

Two Aspect 12 PWM fans come pre-installed at the bottom, drawing air through a filtered intake. Four total mounts accept 120 or 140 mm fans on the top and bottom. Ventilation on five sides promotes steady airflow through the aluminum and steel structure. The front-mounted SFX or SFX-L power supply sits isolated from the main chamber.

Behaviour under sustained load

A stepless slidable central wall provides 15 mm of adjustment, shifting CPU cooler clearance between 55 and 70 mm while accommodating radiators up to 280 mm at the top. The included PCIe 4.0 riser cable supports three-slot graphics cards up to 326 mm long. Four internal 2.5-inch drive bays and three expansion slots remain available during heavy workloads.
