Lumen S28 v2 AIO liquid cooler

The Fractal Design Lumen S28 v2 is an all-in-one liquid cooler built around a 313 x 140 x 27 mm aluminum radiator and two 140 mm Aspect fans. It targets builders who want a closed-loop solution with addressable lighting that syncs through motherboard software. The copper cold plate covers modern Intel LGA and AMD AM sockets, and thermal paste is pre-applied for quicker installation.

Upgrade from stock air coolers

This unit replaces basic box coolers or single-tower air coolers when CPU thermals limit boost clocks or generate noise under load. The jump is worth it when sustained workloads push package power past what a heatsink can dissipate quietly. Articulating elbow fittings and a rotatable top cap simplify tube routing in tighter chassis, while the removable cover lets the logo sit horizontal in any orientation.

Sustained-load behaviour

The ceramic-bearing pump runs at a constant 22 dBA, and the Rifle-bearing fans span 500 to 1700 RPM for 20 to 78 CFM airflow. Under continuous load the fans ramp toward the upper range, reaching 35.5 dBA while moving more air through the radiator fins. Low-permeability rubber tubes with braided nylon sleeves resist evaporation, so cooling capacity stays stable over long sessions without the performance drop seen in shorter burst tests.
