The GLOTRENDS SA3112J adds twelve SATA III 6 Gbps ports through a single PCI Express 3.0 x1 slot, letting a desktop PC, server or NAS address up to twelve SATA drives at once. It uses two JMB575 and one ASM1064 controllers to provide AHCI mode for software RAID or storage-pool configurations, though hardware RAID is not supported and the card cannot boot an operating system.

Bundled cables and power splitters

Twelve SATA III data cables and three 1-to-5 SATA power splitter cables are included, so every drive port can be connected without sourcing extra parts. The splitters draw power from the system’s existing SATA power connectors, simplifying large drive deployments.
