The RocketRAID 3720C adds eight SAS and SATA ports through a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot. It targets administrators building redundant storage on Windows Server, Linux or macOS 10.9 and later. The low-profile bracket fits compact chassis while exposing two SFF-8643 mini-SAS HD connectors for external enclosures.

Capacity and headroom

Each port delivers up to 12Gb/s, so eight drives can saturate the x8 link under heavy sequential workloads. RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 1/0 and 5/0 are supported alongside JBOD and single-disk modes, though RAID 6 is unavailable on macOS. Online capacity expansion and level migration let arrays grow without downtime.

Thermals, noise and power

The card draws power solely from the PCIe slot and uses a passive heatsink, adding no audible noise to the system. Typical operating temperatures stay within spec for server environments when airflow passes over the 5.63" by 2.71" board. No auxiliary power connector is required.
