The HP ProLiant DL160 Gen9 is a 1U rack server equipped with a single Intel Xeon E5-2603 v3 six-core processor running at 1.6 GHz and 64 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It targets IT teams deploying virtualisation hosts, storage nodes or general-purpose workloads in space-constrained data-centre racks.

Build integration

The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays with trays and screws included, while the Smart HBA H240 controller handles 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA drives with RAID 0, 1 and 5 support. Sixteen DDR4 DIMM slots (eight per processor) allow memory expansion up to the installed 64 GB limit, and a second Xeon v3 or v4 CPU can be added for up to 36 total cores. Redundant hot-swap 550 W power supplies maintain uptime during maintenance.

Sustained operation

Embedded Matrox G200 graphics with 16 MB video memory handles console output without taxing the Xeon cores. The 550 W redundant power design and hot-swap supply bays keep the server running during prolonged loads and component replacement. With no operating system included, administrators can install their preferred hypervisor or OS tuned for continuous 24/7 operation.
