The HP ProLiant DL160 Gen9 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2603 v3 six-core processor running at 1.6 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 ECC memory. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays connect through a Smart HBA H240 controller that supports RAID 0, 1 and 5. Redundant hot-swap 550 W power supplies keep the platform running during module replacement.

Moving from a tower or 1U chassis with four bays adds drive density and a second processor socket for up to 36 total cores across two CPUs.
