The HP ProLiant DL160 Gen9 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2623 v3 quad-core processor running at 3 GHz with 32 GB of DDR4 ECC memory. Redundant hot-swap power supplies and eight 2.5-inch drive bays support mixed cloud and general-purpose deployments in space-constrained racks.

Single processor limits total cores

Only one CPU is installed, so the system tops out at four physical cores and eight threads with the current 32 GB RAM. Adding a second Xeon would unlock up to 36 total cores and the full 1 TB memory capacity across 16 DIMM slots.

Smart HBA H240 sustains 12 Gb/s SAS throughput

The onboard controller manages the two 600 GB 15K SAS drives in RAID 0, 1 or 5 without a battery-backed cache. Under continuous I/O the 12 Gb/s SAS link and 15K spindles deliver steady bandwidth for database or virtualisation workloads.
