Purpose-built density

The HP ProLiant DL360 G9 packs a twelve-core Xeon E5-2670 v3 running at 2.3 GHz into a 1U rack chassis, delivering 24 threads for virtualisation hosts, database nodes or compute clusters that must fit in tight cabinet space. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory and two 4 TB SAS drives on an H240ar controller give a ready-to-run foundation for storage-heavy workloads.

Thermals and power

Redundant hot-swap 500 W supplies share the load so a single failure never drops the server, while the 1U airflow path pulls cool air front-to-rear across the CPU and memory without auxiliary ducting. The Matrox G200 graphics core draws negligible power, keeping the thermal budget focused on the processor and drive bays during sustained 7.2 K rpm spindle activity.

Build integration

Four LFF bays accept 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives, and the H240ar presents them through RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60 without consuming a PCIe slot. Twenty-four DDR4 slots — twelve per socket — remain largely open for future expansion to 3 TB, though the single-CPU configuration limits active channels to twelve. No operating system is included, so the installer chooses the hypervisor or OS that matches the licence estate.
