The Smart HBA H240ar supports 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA with RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60, so existing SAS drives that meet those link speeds will be detected and can be configured in any of the supported RAID levels.

How can I verify the E5-2643v3 is running at its 3.4GHz base frequency after installation?

During POST the System ROM displays the processor model and speed; once the OS loads, tools such as lscpu on Linux or Task Manager on Windows will report the 3.4GHz base clock for the six-core Xeon.
