This 1U rack server ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2643v3 six-core processors at 3.4GHz and 16GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It targets organisations that need dense compute for virtualisation, databases or high-performance workloads in space-constrained racks. Redundant hot-swap power supplies and an H240ar SAS RAID controller support continuous operation. The eight-bay SFF chassis accepts 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives.

Moving from a single-processor system or quad-core Xeons adds 12 physical cores and 24 threads, which benefits multi-threaded applications and higher VM density. The jump is worth it when workloads scale across cores and memory bandwidth matters. The installed 146GB 15K SAS drives provide low-latency storage for OS or transaction logs. RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 are supported on the H240ar controller.
