The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 twelve-core processor at 2.3 GHz and 16 GB DDR4 into a 1U chassis. Two 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies support continuous operation. The Smart HBA H240ar controller provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Four large-form-factor drive bays accept 3.5-inch drives, and an embedded four-port 1 Gb Ethernet adapter handles network traffic.

Suited for virtualisation hosts and database nodes

This configuration suits workloads that benefit from twelve cores and twenty-four threads in a shallow rack footprint. Buyers who need a second processor installed, more than sixteen gigabytes of memory from day one, or additional drive bays beyond the four provided should consider a different chassis or configuration. The Matrox G200 graphics with 16 MB video memory covers basic console output only.

Single E5-2670 v3 processor installed

The server ships with one twelve-core Xeon E5-2670 v3 CPU; the socket for a second processor is empty. Maximum supported memory reaches 3 TB across twenty-four DIMM slots when both sockets are populated, but only 16 GB is installed today. Memory runs at up to 2400 MT/s ECC registered DDR4 depending on the processor capability.
