Dual Xeon E5-2630v3 server

The HP ProLiant DL380 G9 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2630v3 eight-core processors running at 2.4 GHz. It ships with 96 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across the 24 DIMM slots. The integrated Smart HBA H240ar controller provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity with support for RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 500 W hot-swap redundant power supplies are included.

Upgrade from single-socket or smaller-memory systems

This configuration replaces single-processor towers or 1U units that cannot scale beyond 12 DIMM slots or lack redundant power. The jump is worth it when workloads need 32 threads, up to 96 GB of installed memory and hot-swap drive bays in a 2U form factor. The H240ar controller adds hardware RAID without a separate card purchase. Eight 2.5-inch drive trays with screws are provided; drives are not included.
