The HP ProLiant DL380 G9 is a 2U rack server built for data-centre workloads that need dual-socket compute in a standard cabinet. Two six-core Xeon E5-2609 v3 processors run at 1.9 GHz and provide up to 36 total cores across the platform. Installed memory is 32 GB DDR4 ECC registered across 24 DIMM slots with a maximum capacity of 32 GB in this configuration. The system targets virtualisation hosts, database nodes and general-purpose application tiers.

P440 controller with 4 GB FBWC and 15 K SAS drives

The Smart Array P440 controller adds 4 GB flash-backed write cache and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible data protection. Two 600 GB 15 K 2.5-inch SAS drives are installed in the front bays, delivering high IOPS for transactional workloads. The controller operates at 12 Gb/s and 6 Gb/s SAS speeds. No operating system is included, so the software stack is chosen by the administrator.

Redundant 500 W hot-swap power and 16 SFF bays

Dual 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies keep the server running during a module failure or maintenance swap. The chassis provides 16 small-form-factor drive bays with trays included for the installed drives. An optional universal media bay or an additional eight SFF bays can expand capacity to 24 bays. Graphics output is handled by an integrated Matrox G200eH2 controller for basic console access.
