The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server built for dense compute workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 six-core processor running at 3.4GHz and supports a second CPU for up to 12 total cores. Installed memory is 48GB DDR4 across 24 DIMM slots, reaching the maximum capacity this configuration allows. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics provide basic management video output.

24-Bay SFF Storage and Redundant Power

Twenty-four 2.5-inch small-form-factor drive bays are populated with trays and screws, ready for SAS drives; no drives are included. The Smart Array P440 controller with 4GB flash-backed write cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible data protection. Dual 500W hot-swap power supplies deliver redundancy without downtime during maintenance. An optional rear cage can add two more SFF bays if capacity needs grow.

Integrated Management and Deployment Ready

The server includes the embedded management processor for remote monitoring and firmware updates out of band. No operating system is installed, so administrators can deploy their preferred hypervisor or OS immediately. The 16MB video memory and lack of an optical drive keep the front panel focused on drive access. Buyers who need pre-loaded drives, a GPU for compute acceleration, or a tower form factor should look elsewhere.
