Single-socket Xeon server for dense compute

The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 occupies 2U of rack space and ships with one Intel Xeon E5-2643 v3 processor running at 3.4 GHz across six cores with hyper-threading. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory fill the installed DIMM slots, and the system board provides 24 slots in total for future expansion. Two 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives connect through the Smart HBA H240ar controller, which supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.

Dual 500 W redundant supplies with hot-swap cooling

Redundant hot-swap power supplies rated at 500 W each allow one unit to fail without taking the server offline. The chassis uses eight small-form-factor drive bays and a matched fan wall that adjusts speed to inlet temperature, keeping acoustic output low in typical data-centre aisles. Power draw scales with processor load and drive activity, and the second CPU socket remains empty unless a matching kit is added later.

H240ar controller and drive trays included

The Smart HBA H240ar provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA connectivity with on-board RAID logic, so the two supplied drives are ready for array configuration without an extra card. Drive trays for the 2.5-inch bays are included, while the universal media bay, NVMe riser and additional eight-bay cages are optional and not supplied. No operating system is pre-installed, leaving the software stack entirely to the deployment team.
