This HPE 872737-001 is a 1.2TB internal hard drive with a 2.5-inch small form factor and a 10000 RPM spindle speed. It connects through a SAS 12Gb/s interface and includes a Smart Carrier for hot-swap installation. The drive is built for HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers such as the DL360 and DL380 in SFF configurations.

It fits 2.5-inch hot-swap bays in supported HPE servers including the DL360 Gen10 8SFF, DL380 Gen10 24SFF and Apollo 4200. The 12Gb/s SAS link and 10000 RPM speed serve transactional workloads that demand low latency. Builders using 3.5-inch large form factor chassis or systems without a SAS backplane cannot install this drive.

The SAS 12Gb/s interface

The drive requires a SAS 12.0 Gbps backplane and a 2.5-inch hot-swap bay with Smart Carrier support. Compatibility is confirmed for specific Gen10 CTO servers such as the DL160 Gen10 8SFF and BL460c Gen10 blades. Without the matching SAS connector and carrier latch the drive will not seat or communicate.
